Sublimation Transfer Machinevs Rotary Screen Printing
Source:ZS Machinery Time:2016-08-16 Click:357 Times
These two machines are often confused because both involve a rotating cylinder, but they work in completely different ways.
Sublimation Transfer Machine
The cylinder is a heated drum. Dye has already been printed onto paper; the machine transfers it onto the fabric with heat and pressure. There is no ink in the machine itself. It prints on polyester and blends, needs no wash-off, and suits short to medium runs.
Rotary screen printing machine
The cylinder is a perforated screen. Paste is pushed through it directly onto the fabric, one screen per colour. It works on almost any fabric and is cheapest per metre on very long runs, but setup is slow and the fabric must then be dried and washed.
Choosing between them comes down to fabric and run length. Synthetic fabrics in short or medium runs favour transfer printing; long runs of simple designs on any fabric favour rotary screen.
