Choosing Sublimation Ink and Transfer Paper
Source:ZS Machinery Time:2016-08-16 Click:1022 Times
Ink and paper decide your colour as much as the machine does, and they have to be chosen together.
Ink
Look at four things: how freely it flows, how quickly it dries, the colour gamut it can reach, and how consistent it is from batch to batch. Flow and colour density pull against each other – a heavily loaded ink gives deeper colour but can block the head. Buy from a supplier who can hold the same formulation over time, because changing ink means re-profiling every colour.
Transfer paper
Paper has to release dye cleanly without cockling at transfer temperature. Too light and it distorts; too heavy and the transfer is incomplete. Fast-dry coatings reduce ink bleed on fine detail.
The practical rule
Choose an ink and paper combination, prove it on your own fabric, and then do not change it mid-order. Record the profile so you can reproduce the same colour next season.
