Features of a Thermal Transfer Printing Machine
Source:ZS Machinery Time:2016-08-16 Click:899 Times
A thermal transfer printing machine transfers disperse dye from printed paper onto fabric at around 200 °C.
The main characteristics:
- Dry process. No water, no washing and no drying – the fabric comes out ready for cutting.
- Very small footprint compared with a screen printing line.
- Photographic detail. Fine lines and full-colour artwork transfer without extra cost.
- Economical at short runs. No screen making, so set-up cost is almost nil.
- Good fastness. Once transferred, the print does not crack or peel.
Fabric choice matters: the method needs polyester or a high-polyester blend. For cotton and other natural fibres you would need a different process.
Machines come in two broad types – rotary machines for fabric in the roll, and flat presses for garments and small pieces.
