Sublimation Transfer Machine: Applications

A sublimation transfer machine takes a printed sheet of transfer paper and transfers the image onto fabric with heat and pressure.
Where it is used
- Sportswear, cycling wear, swimwear and dancewear
- Performance and team apparel
- Home textiles – curtains, bedding, cushions
- Flags and banners
- Lanyards, webbing, ribbon and elastic tape
- Footwear, bags and accessories
Fabrics
Polyester works best. Blends work in proportion to their polyester content. Cotton, silk, wool and linen cannot be printed by this method.
Why it is used
The dye bonds into the fibre, so colour survives washing and wear. There is no wash-off and no drying, water use is minimal, and there is no screen or plate to prepare, which makes short runs economical.
